How we can help

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than being organized or liking things a certain way. OCD involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions) that create significant anxiety, often leading to repetitive behaviors or mental rituals (compulsions) performed to reduce distress. While these behaviors may provide temporary relief, they often reinforce the cycle of OCD over time.

Common symptoms may include excessive checking, contamination fears, intrusive thoughts about harm, a need for symmetry or certainty, repetitive reassurance seeking, or mental rituals such as counting or reviewing events. OCD can interfere with work, school, relationships, and daily life, leaving individuals feeling trapped in an exhausting cycle of fear and doubt.

At Avision Therapy, we provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you can better understand your OCD and begin breaking free from its cycle. We use evidence-based treatments including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to help reduce anxiety, increase psychological flexibility, and support nervous system regulation. Treatment is collaborative, gradual, and tailored to your comfort level while building confidence in facing uncertainty.

Our goal is to help you spend less time controlled by OCD and more time focused on the life you want to live. Together, we’ll help you respond differently to intrusive thoughts, reduce compulsive behaviors, and regain a greater sense of freedom, confidence, and peace.
